The DubTrike It started life as a standard 1200, rescued from the scrap yard to be used as spare parts. The body and floor pan were completely rotten. After cutting away all the bits that were unsalvagable, we were left with just the disc conversion on the front beam and the running gear.
Even though we only had the skeleton of a car left, we still couldn't bear to see her scrapped, so we decided to give her a new lease of life.......as the DubTrike! The remains of the floor pan were given a metal diet and then joined to the front end of a GPZ500.
After careful measuring and jigging, we started to make all the metal plates that join the front and back together. Always wear appropiate ear muffs, saftey glasses and Christmas jumper (optional) when working with metal. Welded, cleaned and prepared, then bolted back together again.
Front end strengthened, with adopted fuel cell. Now on with gear linkage, brakes and forward controls.
Petrol tank and seat were taken from a Harley-Davidson. All the metal brackets, seat support and frame were made by hand.
